Got my licence few months ago and I am gonna write through how I got my licence. Every SINGLE TIME when I call Daniel Instructor, he was very VERY impatient with me and impolite. I don't understand why he have to rush, I mean is that how you communicate with your customers? Is that really how you do business? I think it is the other way round :)))) I got super annoyed whenever I call and book. I tried to be polite everything I call in but majority the response is just IMPOLITE. :)) booking of the TP test I have no idea why it is close to $200 but when I ask my other friends they stated that 35$ is the booking fee. TBH, I will not recommend it to anyone, just find others if you don't want to dampen your day. Bye!

Do not waste your precious money and time, if u want to save money I suggest u enroll into driving sch or find other private instructors, Mr Daniel is indeed a nice guy to talk to, but when it comes to teaching, he is really bad, I even stopped by the road side during lesson for him to get to the lottery shop to buy his 4D/ToTo and he still have the cheeks to ask me if im interested to buy, like seriously? When he was teaching me on my parallel parking, he was enjoying eating his fruits and at some point he fell aslp, leaving me alone trying to do my parking at some ulu MSCP. to add on he is always late for my lesson and end on time. Really horrible experience. Really hope u guys can avoid this.

Was recommended this school by my aunt who knew daniel from line dancing(or whatever old people do). Thinking that since its recommended by a relative, he should be somewhat trustworthy but he is not. Daniel asks for 48 notice to cancel lesson, but when i tried cancelling one of the lesson 3 days ahead, i wanst able to contact him. I ended up sending him an SMS to inform him of my predicament. he responded the next day telling me i will have to pay because i did not inform him before 48hrs?? So it only counts when he sees your message? Secondly, the instructors he has are all shit. Verbally abusive and disrespectful no matter how nice and polite you are, I've been through NS and i've been through command school, these instructors treat you worst than the army. My instructor was an old senile chinese man called "Teo" who at first seems polite but is completely incompetent in teaching you anything. i spent 10 lessons just driving in circles, nothing on when to turn and how much, he just tell you to "turn lo". when we went to the circuit, he berated me for the slightest mistakes like "when are you suppose to start turning when making a corner". Of course i didnt know any of that since "Teo" never taught me any of those things. TLDR: Save your money and your dignity and go for school, they teach you actual skills and tips rather than this bullshit company. Daniel if you're reading this, fuck you and your company and im glad your daughter is in the hospital you money grubbing swine!

Talkative Fanatic – Mr. Daniel

I had a fantastically cruel ride while getting my driving license in Singapore. Let me give you all the entire narrative of how it all went and the hidden costs that Mr. Daniel Ng Keng Hwa (98566210) charges fanatically. Initially, I wanted my driving school to be at BBDC as its near to my house. However, as I went there and inquired about private driving instructors, they all pointed out to contact Mr. Daniel. Well this sounded okay. I had thought he was the manager of all these drivers under him. I called him and he got me linked to a driver named Mr. David. Honestly, Mr. David was extremely nice and tried to talk to you as well, but he didn’t know anything about the driving rules or anything as such for the manual transmission. However, the biggest surprise came after Daniel called me up and told me that I have to now train under him at “Woodlands SSDC”. Why Woodlands!! I went to BBDC and wanted to give the test there and now he was forcing me to go and train at Woodlands! Is this some kind of a joke? But since I had already paid the deposit fee, and took 3 lessons at BBDC on the road, I dredged to woodlands whenever he called me. The first lesson with Mr. Daniel was rather hilarious. His attitude and extreme confidence in his skills in my very first class as he called himself ‘superman’ of private driving instructors and bad mouthed about the other made me rethink who I have come to learn with. Nonetheless I have to agree that he knows what to do and when to do to pass the examination. However, guys there is a significant difference between “teaching” something and “shouting” it at you with remarkable attitude. He touches your face every time to see in the mirrors while parking which almost feels like as if he is harassing you. Furthermore, when you do make a mistake he reacts violently, which makes you even more afraid and commit to more mistakes and his incessant talking full of swear words is so irritating that you leave his lesson with a headache. Lastly, whenever I would call him to book the classes, he talks in a very arrogant manner. Thus, his personality and his character is so ugly that it was almost impossible to approach him to ask him in any questions that I had. Coming over to the costs that Mr. Daniel cheated out of me. I am from a not so well to do family and so I had to cover driving license costs through the money I had saved. Before I go into the numbers, I would like to mention that Mr. Daniel does not say about any of these when you call him at the very beginning, but rather he hides so much of the costs to make his teaching course look reasonable. Firstly, his registration amount is SGD$100. Then the BBDC road diving courses amounted to SGD54 each. Then as I was transferred to Woodlands, I had to terminated my account of BBDC (as I had written my BTT and FTT there) which cost me another SGD24$ extra. His first lesson was something that he called ‘evaluation’. He charged about SGD123$ for this first lesson which consisted of more talking than actual driving than subsequent lessons in Woodlands. Then since SSDC has a multi-storey circuit building, he charged us fees of the circuit for the second floor for SGD$38. Then next time when he called me he told me he would take me on the test floor or ground level, which costed SGD$49 more (I don’t know how there is more cost for the ground floor). I must also mention here that when he would switch from road lesson to circuit, he would park the car and go and take out some magnetic number wherein he wasted 15 mins after which all of his classes ended about 10-15 mins earlier than scheduled. Lastly, when the test day arrives, he rips you off by asking you to pay SGD$107 booking fees of circuit and SGD$34 for the appointment of examiner by Traffic Police. However, the cost of the test doesn’t end and he asks you SGD$395 for the completely hopeless warm-up which is horribly demotivating as he calls you ‘stupid’ and ‘lousy’. It does feel bad for me to write such a review about him, but I would want my other fellow Singaporeans to not suffer the torture that I had gone through.

I took one lesson with a Chinese instructor (quite old man, silver Toyota Vois) and it was the worst. He drove 10 mins into an ulu place (literally gravel road and stray dogs). When we were there he spent half the time head down looking at a book. I had to drive around without much guidance. Then we reached a dead end and just said, "okay, uturn" (my first lesson btw). I said idk how, and he said, "just turn left and uturn"... When i kept asking questions because idk anything, he got annoyed. Then he suddenly took something out, which were earphones, and he plugged. the. earphones.in. Every time i asked for directions he wont be able to hear me until he removed the earphones. -.- FINALLY, last straw was when he took out nail clippers and started cutting his nails. Worst way I've spent $157 ever. Which we had to bank transfer him BEFORE the class.

I thought I could ignore the reviews and give this guy a chance, at least for 1 session. Regretted totally! Late for 15mins. Gave attitude. Condescending (This is my 1st lesson for goodness sake!). Overall very VERY bad experience. Quit to enrol in school after this.

Suddenly called me saying there’s a slot for TP in 3 weeks time. His instructors are there to teach the basics, once you have mastered that, he will take over to coach you and he has serious amount of tips tho when you make mistakes, he isnt the nicest guy. Afterall youre paying to learn, and if he is relax and heckcare, you wouldn’t correct your mistakes right? As for booking the next session, its hard to get thru him via phone but when he does get thru, he will make it quick and tell you the available slots, and request that you messaged him the confirmed session after the phone call to keep it as reference. Would recommend!

i recently passed my driving test class 3 manual with 8 points on first try and would like to share my experience with Mr Daniel (Ng Keng Hwa). first of all, he charges $70 for registration which based on what i checked is common practice for some PDIs and driving centres. he has a team of 2 other instructors (as far as i know) and i was taught by one of them first till he deemed me suitable to take the test and then i was passed on to mr daniel. when i first registered, he asked for IC and bbdc account password (he's trustworthy). you book your lessons through him via phone, and he gives you around 2 slots a week. have to book at least 2 weeks in advance and must cancel at least 48 hours which i feel is reasonable considering it is his income. the instructor I was mostly taught by was Mr David, who was extremely patient and understanding. when he thought I would be able to go for test he passed me on to Mr Daniel, who took me into the circuit and taught me what to watch out for during the test. I can see why he can come off as naggy and rude even, as he will sometimes scold you for forgetting things etc. especially when the test date is nearing. It can trigger you a little as it did for me, but honestly I would say it’s good that he bothers correcting your driving and that he is sincere about wanting you to pass your test. Overall I think he is a good driving instructor, he has more than 30 years’ experience and knows what to look out for on test roads and circuit and is well connected in the industry. He is sincere. If you want to pass on your first try, he gives you a high chance!

2nd lesson was given 1 month later.

Chinese teacher working for him is good. But, the coordinator himself is impatient and not reliable. I had call twice to make reservation, he gave me the dates and told me to SMS him all the dates again to confirm. I sent and he told me I slot in extra dates myself. Told him I have all the time the following months to clear 20-25 lessons. My second lesson was given to me one month away from the first lesson, how the hell would I remember what I have learnt during the first lesson! Of whic, he claimed that I slotted in 2 extra lessons myself! I told him the car number he had given me(which I had never drive before, then he shut his blaming).Cancelled and moved on with a more teacher now. You can try calling him, he will repeat the same word 3 times in at moments and expect you to return him the missed call by ringing 3 times and hanging the call up I mediately. I came here with a sincere mind to clear my learning asap and I got such u professionalism from such person. His passing rate might be high, but expect to get your license in 2 years time. He have the slots but he doesn't want to give it to you, which is evident from my the conversation during the scheduling. I am moving on!

I understand why there are bad reviews. Was very frustrated at times with his loud personality, (sometimes) unfair fees and expenses, time management etc. I honestly don't think it's any different with other instructors also. Tbh, quite an approachable/friendly guy lah, just fierce/forceful sometimes also. You have to admit his high passing rate is because he is effective, like it or not. I passed on my 1st TP after 17 lessons, 2 circuits. Except for the higher fees, no regrets. In hindsight, Mr Daniel knows how to help students pass, so just trust him. My early lessons with Mr David (the Chinese instructor under him) were very good also. Patient, experienced, taught very well. Had one lesson with the Malay instructor also – wasn't so good. Avoid if possible. At the end of the day, if you have a thick skin and can tahan, go for it. Saves you time and $$

Dispite all the review here, his passing rate is one of the top in Singapore. I passed on my first try with only 4 points. The reason he asked for account information is to help us look for earlier test date by monitoring the system.

It is apparent through most of the reviews here that this instructor is not a genuine one whom is out to help learners pas their driving lessons. As mentioned by many, he is only keen to mass recruit students and does not have proper management skills to manage his instructors. His rates are one of the highest yet I do not see that being translated to Instructors with higher qualities. While some reviewers mentioned learners need to accept the way he speaks/ his attitude and whatnot, I'd like to think it is very obvious when it comes to whether or not he is sincere in teaching you. Coupled with so many bad reviews here, most with similarly issues, I do not think it is the learner's problem. Something is really wrong with this instructor, please do not waste your time and money. I wasted 15 lessons and decided to stop learning from him when he cheated me of my money, demanding that I pay for a lesson I missed when he was the one who cancelled it few days ago. Totally dishonest!

What the other reviewers said are all true. To a certain extent. You got to believe in yourself and ask questions when in doubt, even if they do scold you. Making mistakes is okay. That way you can learn more. Went to the circuit 3 times before the test and a warm up. Which I think is not enough time in the circuit but just enough. The price is high the test is $388 plus 107 for booking the circuit and additional fees have to be made on th day of the circuit. Would I recommend learning here? Yes and no. I'm okay with it but you might not. you have to be patient and they See by the number of lessons you go before you can take the evaluation then the test(roughly 15 lessons total then mr Ng will evaluate you then book the test). Save. Money? Yes. It's cheaper if you pass the first time if not it'll be roughly the same as school good luck

Extremely bad instructor that charge me 134 dollars which include 70 dollars registration fee. Took my first circuit lesson which cost me 100dollars and he teach me parallel parking only. Was called to drive out the circuit early as he book the wrong circuit (test) for me for practice.h is PT rates are high at 388 and have to pay additional 107 to book the dates. During lesson time he always busy with his phone doing booking for others.lessson always end earlier than expected. Even treaten me that he will nvr book circuit for me again after I cancel one of his lesson three days in advance cause he say he book circuit for me without informing

Ng driving instruction is a rubbish school don't risk it learning driving from Daniel. He has 2 other instructor under him. The Malay instructor is fucking useless. He sleeps during lesson and his instructions were unclear. He always start lesson late and end lesson 15min early to go for a smoke break. The other instructor is so much better he teaches you step by step and he is very patient. Daniel is a rubbish. After learning from his Instructors you will have to learn from Daniel cos only his car can enter circuit. He charge very high rates(100 plus) for every circuit lesson and he waste a lot of time. Eg, he tell you to start lesson at 4.45 when his learner take test at 4.40 so you have to wait for his learner to finish his test before you can start your lesson which is like 15 min later. During your circuit lesson he would also keep telling you to stop and wait for him to answer his calls. He also end lesson early. During lesson he is also very impatient and would scold vulgarities at you and even say you're fucking stupid. The only thing that he'll always do during lesson is to boast to you about how many students he have and how he have to always reject ppl cos he has too many students alr. His lessons are also very hard to book and you must book at least 2 weeks in advance. To all new learners that wish to take private driving so as to spend less money and time, do not be deceived by the high passing rates don't risk going to Daniel school.

Daniel Ng driving center is really bad , management and instructors wise! I managed to go for 3 successful auto lessons. My auto instructor (MR toh) isn't that good..he didn't give you clear instructions and expects you to know how to drive . My friend took manual from one of Daniel Ng's other instructors , he is naggy , impatient and doesn't give clear instructions. Management wise, Daniel Ng driving center is also very bad !! There was once he asked me to go for Monday lesson but I decline (due to not being free on that day). Later within the same week, I tried to book lessons from him and he said the instructor is fully booked for 2 weeks.. Ok that's fine I can wait for 2 weeks. 2 weeks later , I called him again and asked him for weekends or night lessons (can no longer made it for weekday afternoon/morning lessons because I have already started work at that point of time)..and he told me his weekends or any lessons are fully booked until next year ! He is clearly trying to drop me as a student and cheat my registration fees of $70. Daniel Ng is clearly an irresponsible person who doesn't give priority to existing students and still accepts students even when he is "fully" booked. His lessons timing are not convenient for people who are doing 9am-5pm jobs ..so really don't waste money and time on Daniel NG driving centre . There's clearly a reason why his ratings are shit !

Daniel Ng Driving Instruction has very bad management issues. He can never arrange a slot for your next lesson in a systematic manner. According to my instructor from his company, he is doing many administrative work on top of teaching students how to drive. So I became very wary when I booked lessons from him because I know one day he will screw up. True enough he screwed my booking. He claimed that I booked lessons with him when I have not. I could not booked any more lessons as I was entering NS. He then goes on telling me that I am irresponsible and wants to drop me as his learner. Even my instructor from his company knows I have got NS and will return only when I finished my 2 weeks confinement. I feel that he just wants to accept as much learners as possible and just complete the schedule. His mentality is that even if he lose you as a learner, he still has many more learners. He hires good instructors but he himself is causing his company to fall. This company is strongly not recommended. Enrol at your own risk.

Daniel Ng will not teach you personally until you are ready to take tests. He have two instructors under him (manual) and they are pretty experienced. One of them has worked at BBDC for 7 years. Daniel Ng can sound abit rude some times but that is his personality so you got to accept it hahaha and laugh it off. He allows for advanced booking so usually I would book 2 weeks in advanced for lessons for the entire next month. Also, it's quite hard to reach him as he always go overseas so yes, better book in advanced!! And try not to cancel your lessons (must give him at least 48hours notice) I would say he is really good compared to instructors who doesn't care. Lessons are considered expensive as well, he charge high fees compared to private but still cheaper than school 🙂 Recommended!

I got 2 points in the recent TP. was very nervous because he was strict but afterall, it was actually prep for actual test. Not so nervous during test itself. i think those who are unhappy here are getting rather personal. But anyway, i think it comes back to the students themselves whether they want to cooperate with the teachers or not. U can say all you want about how bad he is blah blah but his passing rates is still one of the highest in SG and that means the most to customers like myself. Highly recommend. I also had the same experience. He never admits to his own mistakes and demands payment for the classes which he made a mistake on. Serious management issues. When discussed nicely or not nicely, he would not budge. Even with black and white, he would not listen to you and threaten to drop you as a student because he has a lot of students and wouldn't mind losing one. Same experience of his instructors starting late ending early. Tried both soft measure and hard measure but was demanded to pay for his mistakes. He also lied to me trying to charge me extra on misc fees. AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Daniel Ng Driving Instruction has serious management issues which led to instructors leaving and ended up there was only 1 instructor handling all students learning auto. He cannot accommodate all the students' schedule. He never admits to his mistake. He called to inform that lesson is cancelled but demanded the student to pay for the class that he missed. He also refused to refund the full amount for TP that was paid in advance. He will only listen to his own pool of instructors and will not believe you when you highlighted to him about instructors being late for lessons. He also mentioned that being 5 mins late and ending lesson 5 mins earlier is the norm. All private driving instructors do that. In fact he even said that the driving instructors from school starts 10 minutes later and end 10 minutes earlier. Heard both good & bad reviews about him but decided to try. This is to warn all new learners to try at your own risk!

Can push for early TP date

Meets at Bukit Gombak and uses a Honda. Good thing about him is that he has ties with BBDC, so can try to push the date for TP as early as possible. But might not necessarily be good also, cos it might be better to practise more.
